What is Microdermabrasion?

Microdermabrasion helps improve the appearance of your skin and minimizes wrinkles, age spots or other minor cosmetic concerns. Microdermabrasion is a minimally invasive procedure to remove the uppermost layer of skin from your face. Microneedling and Microdermabrasion are both procedures to improve the look and texture of your skin. Instead, a healthcare provider uses a handheld device with a rough edge like sandpaper, or tiny crystals to exfoliate the uppermost layer of your skin. Microneedling goes deeper into your skin than microdermabrasion, so it might work better for problems beneath the surface, such as acne scars and wrinkles.

What is PRP?

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is produced from a person’s own blood. It is the concentration of one type of blood cell (platelets), which is critical for blood clotting. This concentration is injected to an injured or diseased part of a person’s body to accelerate the healing of damaged tendons, ligaments, muscles, bones and joints. Your healthcare provider may use PRP injections across a number of applications. Examples of these include Hair Loss / Hair Regrowth, Facial and Skin Rejuvenation, O-Shot, P-Shot .etc.

What can I expect during the procedure?

Blood is removed from the arm using a needle into the vein. Then the blood is processed in a centrifuge, equipment that separates blood components into different parts according to their density. The platelets are separated into blood serum (plasma), while some of the white and red blood cells may be removed. Therefore, by spinning the blood, the equipment concentrates the platelets and produces what is called platelet-rich plasma (PRP).
